About Elba Elementary:

ELA: Our ELA Core Curriculum is based on reading research and follows the New York State Next Generation English Language Arts Standards. Our curriculum is based on decades of research on how the brain learns to read and is tailored to meet the needs of all students. Our teachers systematically and explicitly teach the five key components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. These elements are broken down and targeted instruction is provided so that students have a strong foundation in reading for future success. Our teachers currently use:

Students in grades 3-5 follow the NYS Math Modules. provided by Engage NY. Our grade 6 students engage in the curriculum from eMath Instruction.
